「Practice Diary 009」How many hours does a pianist need for practicing?

2023.08.08 -- 6.5 hours

· Bach French Suite No.5 Sarabande & Gavotte: Detailed Learn

· Lera Auerbach Trio First Movement: Rough Learn

· Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 1st Movement Second Half: Rough Revised

· Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 3rd Movement: Slow Rough Revised

Richter said if he had to learn a piece urgently, he would practice 13 hours per day;

When Joanna MacGregor started her career as a concert pianist, she practiced at least 8 hours per day;

Lang Lang did 12 hours per day since his teenage years;

Yuja Wang... God knows how many hours she practiced to play all of Rachmaninoff Concertos in a single concert.

I did 6.5 hours today, and already felt slumped.

It seems like I still have a long long long way to go in order to become a professional concert pianist.

Just curious:

How did these people make time for relationships?

Perhaps it's necessary for me to take an extra time-management course ...

Good night.
